The car that Durham police had been seeking in connection with the death of a pregnant woman in Pickering has been located in the Beaches area of Toronto.
Toronto police located the 2015 black four-door Infiniti sedan on Lee Avenue, off of Queen Street East, early Monday morning, according to CBC Toronto video producer Tony Smyth.
The car was sealed with evidence tags and towed away from the scene, Smyth reported.
Nicholas Tyler Baig, 25, was arrested Saturday evening after a day-long search and charged with second-degree murder in the death of his wife, Arianna Goberdhan, 27.
On Friday night, Durham police found the body of Goberdhan in a Pickering home with "obvious signs of trauma." The home is located on Winville Road, near Taunton and Brock Roads.
Police said they had received a call about a domestic disturbance at the residence.
Goberdhan was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not said how she died.
Police said her unborn baby did not survive.
Baig appeared in court on Sunday via video link. He was remanded into custody and is due back in court on April 13, according to Staff Sgt. Peter Cousins, spokesperson for the Durham Regional Police Service.
