Lamb Finds Home on Farm after Being on the Lam
A young lamb has been shepherded to a new home, two months after she was found on Highway 401, near the Guelph line.
Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Kerry Schmidt tweeted photos of the lamb Wednesday in the backseat of a police cruiser.
“It’s quite cute,†he said of the lamb, found on Feb. 20.
She was named Anna by Megan Swan, Animal Protection Officer at the Guelph Humane Society.
With Easter around the corner, it’s unclear if the Anna was a pet, or destined for the butcher, but she is now on a farm with another orphan lamb, Swan said.
“A lamb is not something we usually get,†she said. “It was surprising when she came into our care.â€
Despite the baaa-d situation Anna might have been in, Swan said she had no injuries after being on the lam.
After a few days of assessing her health and looking for an owner, staff decided to give her a new home.
“No one came forward to claim her,†Swan said. “But it’s good that now she’s living her life out on a farm.â€
