This Easter Weekend, what’s Open and Closed?

As Good Friday rolls in, plenty of services across the city will be shutting their doors early for the long weekend. Few of them will be closed for the entirety of the Easter weekend, but here’s a list of what will (mostly) be open or closed for business:

(MOSTLY) OPEN:

  • The TTC will be running on holiday hours (8 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.) for all of Good Friday, but resume regular service starting Saturday morning. (However, a number of bus routes will be disrupted on Friday and Sunday as Easter parades fill city streets. Check here for more info).
  • GO Transit is also running holiday hours for all of its trains and buses on Good Friday, but, again, will go back to its normal weekend and weekday service as of Saturday.
  • One of the few malls that’ll be open on Good Friday is the Eaton Centre, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It’ll be open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Easter Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Easter Monday.
  • The Toronto Zoo is only closed one day of the year: Christmas. It’ll have regular hours throughout the Easter weekend.
  • The other major mall that’s open for business on Good Friday, Toronto Premium Outlets, operates from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Easter Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Easter Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • The Ontario Science Centre has reduced hours on Good Friday (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), but will be open as usual as of Saturday.
  • The Art Gallery of Ontario is closing a little early on Good Friday, at 4 p.m., not 5:30 p.m., but will run on its usual schedule for the rest of the weekend.
  • The Hockey Hall of Fame’s hours won’t change at all on the Easter weekend: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, 9:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, then back to 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Easter Monday.
  • Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada is also open the same hours, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. throughout Easter.
  • The Aga Khan Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., from Friday to Monday.
  • The ROM is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., from Saturday until Easter Monday.
  • Emergency shelters and services for homeless Torontonians will be open throughout Easter weekend.

(MOSTLY) CLOSED:
