TTC Subway, Streetcar Closures this Weekend

Several disruptions to TTC service this weekend will impact the downtown commute.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Yonge-University line (Line 1) will be suspended in both directions between King and St. Andrew stations, cutting off access to Union Station due to scheduled track and switch work.

There will be no shuttle buses.

Those travelling between those stations are encouraged to use the underground PATH walkway or take the 504 King streetcar. Wheel-Trans services will be running between the two stations.

Regular service resumes Monday at 6 a.m.

The 501 Queen streetcar will also be diverting this weekend at Queen St. W. and Bay St. due to scheduled track work.

Starting 8 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, eastbound streetcars will divert south on Spadina Ave., east on King St. W., and north on Church St. Westbound streetcars will divert south on Church St., west on King St., and north at York St.

Shuttle buses will also be running between Jarvis and Bathurst Sts.

The diversion is also scheduled for next weekend starting Fri. April 7 at 8 p.m. until Mon. April 10 at 5 a.m.

There will be three more weekends of subway closures in April.

April 8-9: Line 1 will be closed between Downsview to St. George stations work on the automated train control system.

April 22-23: Line 3, Scarborough line, will be closed for track and life extension work.

Apr. 29-30: Line 1 will be closed between Downsview to St. George stations for automated train control work.
