Clear Skies and mild Temperatures for St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Sounds of Irish cheer and Celtic tunes were heard along the streets as Torontonians came together for the 30th annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, Sunday afternoon.
The parade kicked off at noon from Bloor St. W., and St. George St. A stream of green flowed west along Bloor, south along Yonge St, and west along Queen St. W., to Nathan Phillips Square.
Michael McCormack, president of the Toronto Police Association, lead the festivities as the Grand Marshal.
Along with the parade, the Shamrocks and Sneakers 4K Run/Walk organized by the Cabbagetown Youth Centre kicked off at noon and went along the route of the parade. The proceeds raised from the fun run will be going towards the youth centre and Cabbagetown Boxing.
The
luck of the Irish was also with parade-goers as Torontonians saw
comfortable temperatures with a high of 6C and a UV index of four.
