Infrastructure Ontario Loan Program Supports Community-Based Infrastructure Projects
Ontario continues to support its municipalities and other eligible public-sector partners through Infrastructure Ontario's (IO's) Loan Program by providing affordable, long-term financing for infrastructure development and renewal. The Loan Program is just one way Ontario is working with its partners to improve the quality of life in communities across the province.
The provincial government announced that IO has entered into new commitments to provide financing through its Loan Program to two eligible organizations.
The eligible organizations are:
- The Municipality of Casselman for acquisition of land for economic development - $1,550,000 loan
- The City of Clarence-Rockland for Fire and EMS stations - $6,789,319 loan
With more than 440 public-sector clients, the Loan Program has helped finance various types of infrastructure projects such as the construction of roads, bridges, arena complexes, long-term care homes, and the acquisition and installation of capital assets like fire trucks and energy-efficient lighting.
Supporting modern and efficient public infrastructure is critical for building a strong economy, prosperous communities, and creating jobs.
