East-end Toronto BIAs say businesses feeling coronavirus chill
East-end Toronto BIAs say businesses are doing their best to weather the COVID-19 crisis.
Since Ontario Premier Doug Ford ordered all non-essential workplaces closed, Danforth Mosaic Business Improvement Area (BIA) Chair Billy Dertilis said in an interview that he's heard "75 to 80 per cent of doors being shut" across the city, and he guesses that the east-end Danforth BIA is near that number.
"We have a lot of restaurants and even a lot of the services that can't even open," he said.
